Who we are
We Save the Bees Other People Would Spray
The Luffman Local is a small family homestead in Marietta, Georgia. We have a vision to make the world a better place for our family, friends, and local community. We got into beekeeping as hobby, starting with two hives in our backyard. The first years had some trials, and we started learning everything we could about bees. All of our friends and family learned a new bee fact whenever they saw us.
Before we knew it, there were over ten hives' worth of bees, pollinating our family garden. We decided to pursue this as a full time business after seeing the impact that bees had on our family's health and happiness. We want other beekeepers to feel that excitement, giving them the toolkit to succeed from the beginning. This journey of keeping bees has turned into one of our greatest passions of our lives and we're loving every minute of it.
Our Story
A Homestead that runs on Honey Bees
We didn’t set out to run a removal company. We set out to keep bees. But once you know how to safely get a colony out of a wall and into a hive, the calls start coming, and every one of them is a colony that would otherwise get sprayed.
So that’s the work now. We pull honey bees out of walls, soffits, and siding across metro Atlanta and bring them home to our yard, where they join the hives we already keep. The honey we sell, the wax we wrap, the nucs we raise for new beekeepers; a lot of it traces back to a colony somebody wanted gone.
It’s a family operation, start to finish. The person who answers your call is the person who quotes the job, does the removal, and looks after the bees afterward.

Alive, Not Exterminated
No chemicals go into your walls. The colony comes out whole and goes to a managed hive. Killing bees is the thing we’re here to prevent.

Honest About What We Do
We’re beekeepers, not contractors. We tell you up front what we’ll open, what we’ll seal, and what you’ll want a contractor for. No surprises on the driveway.

Honey Bees Only
It’s what we’re certified and equipped for. If it turns out to be wasps or hornets, we’ll tell you, and point you to the right person instead of taking the job.
Credentials
Trained, Inspected, and Insured
Beekeeping is easy to do badly, so we’ve put in the work to do it right, and to be accountable when we’re working on your home.
- Certified through the University of Georgia Master Beekeeper Program as a Journeyman, currently working toward Master Beekeeper
- Licensed and insured for structural bee removals
- Apiary inspected and registered with the Georgia Department of Agriculture
- All colonies treated for varroa mites
